Productivity!

The economy is in sad shape and I'm not making my goals at my store in the mall.
My productivity standard during the month of June was $73.00 (that means I need to sell $73.00 worth of merchandise from the drapery department an hour. My productivity for June was only $65.00 which means that I did not achieve the minimum productivity standard.
My hours have been cut and I'm not getting many prime hours. Prime hours meaning the peak hours for shoppers. Last night I had 3 customers.
I have a feeling that my productivity for the month of July is going to be bad news. We don't have many customers that can afford window treatments at this time. I really love my job here in the mall and would hate to lose it.

What should I do?

I'm so happy that I have this job at the campground, I love working here.  We are busy on weekends and holidays but during the week is slow. This sad economy is really hurting everyone.

YIKES, winter is coming and I need to have a job.

I guess I will count my blessings and take it one day at a time.

My "happy picture" for the day

Are you staying there through the winter again, or moving on down the road?

I think $73 dollars in drapes every hour is a lot to expect.

Do you have office skills? If so, perhaps you can find a part-time employment in that arena. For instance, hospitals frequently have PT admissions or clerk jobs. If you have a mall near you, don't forget Hickory Farms will be hiring for the holidays! I know that's not long-term but it is something. Chin up!

not your fault that no one is buying!!..JC Penny sounds like they are pretty 'fickle' too me...how are you expected to meet your quota if you aren't there at 'peak shopping times'??

It's hard to sell when there are no customers, and they don't have any money!

Of course, if they will not give you enough good hours, it becomes a self fulfilling prophesy.

They should consider the traffic when they set the goals. I assume they do not consult with you when setting the standard?

At the rate the idiots are going in DC, I have little hope fro improvement soon.

Didn't realize Penney's had sales quotas. That's kinda rough.
