Getting My Baby Fix!

I had off yesterday and drove to Baltimore to visit my daughter and spend time with my grandson,  Jacob.  That little baby is growing like a weed. I took care Jacob while Michelle took her two dogs out for a very long walk. She doesn't get a lot of "Michelle" time these days and rarely has time to take her dogs out for walks.  She has a golden and a chocolate lab and they require more exercise than they're able to get because of her spending time with Jacob and the weather has been so ridiculously cold.
It's always a pleasure to go down and see the baby and lend her a helping hand. I keep telling her that these times will be tough but 10 years from now she will look back,  smile and say wow where has the time gone.

Being a single mom sure will be tough but if anyone can do it, my daughter can and she will be a champion! I have an amazing family and they are always willing to lend a helping hand.
Jacob is a gift from God. Everything in life happens for a reason. God never gives us more than we can handle. When things seem bad, we need to remember things will always get better.

Hobbling Around In The Snow!

This week is turning out to be a very snowy week we're getting snow today more tonight and later in the week they're calling for more snow. I'm just so thankful we're not getting the 2 feet of snow that they're getting in New York.
The other night when Jodie and I were out for a walk, I didn't see a small  hole, as the ground was covered with snow, of course I stepped in it and twisted my foot. I was hobbling around and limping for a few days.  Today I woke up it and was so swollen,  I couldn't put my shoe on. I decided to take the day off and rest my foot and soak it in Epson salt, lo and behold it's starting to feel little better.  I'm praying that it will heal fast, as I work on my feet for most of the day.
A few years ago I started having problems with my left knee I went to an orthopedic surgeon and I was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis
I've had two cortisone injections in my knee over the years and they seemed to have helped. I've noticed that this cold weather can really make my arthritis act up, and it has really given me some grief lately.
I was told a knee replacement might be in my future. As for now I'll just have to deal with it. I seem to do ok except going up and down stairs.
Hello "Golden Years".
I haven't been to visit with my new grandson for over a week and can't wait to see him again. We are planning on a visit this week.  Every picture that my daughter sends me I can see he is getting bigger.
Jacob and Harley all snug.
At least the days are getting a little bit longer and we all know that spring is on the way, might be a while, but we know it's coming. Meanwhile we'll have to deal with the snow, ice and cold.

Our New Home!

It's going to be very challenging for me to find exciting things to write about. When we were living in our motorhome and traveling all over the country I always found something different and exciting to write about. I do miss that lifestyle.  I miss having different neighbors each and every day, but most of all I miss sitting out by the campfire.

As they say (whoever "they" are) all good things must come to an end and when one chapter closes a better one will usually open. Nevertheless it was time for us to sell the motor home and move on.

The apartment that we lived in for two years was very nice, it had two bedrooms one bathroom and no laundry room. Unfortunately the rent kept going up and the apartment stayed  the same. We found a single-story townhome to buy  that has two bedrooms a bath and a half a laundry room and a garage. Our mortgage is cheaper than the rent and we have more room and a far nicer neighborhood. My favorite thing about our new home is having my own laundry room. I'm also in love with my kitchen, it's absolutely enormous with lots of cabinets and counter space.

The neighborhood that we live in is very dog friendly  Jodie and I go on many long walks. Our walks are mostly on sidewalks. Walking on sidewalks certainly makes my knees and my legs very happy. Jodie loves to explore all the different neighborhoods that we can walk through. There's also a small wooded area right next to us that has little walking trails, Jodie loves to walk there as well.

Most of the people that live here in the neighborhood are 55 years or older. As you can imagine it's very peaceful and quiet here.

So far we are really enjoying living here in our new neighborhood and our new home.
I'm really looking forward to summer so we can fix our little yard up with beautiful flowers and perhaps fence in our back yard.

The Past Six Months!

The past six months have been truly amazing to me. Back in August my son married his girlfriend of many years. I was calling her my daughter in-law years before they got married.
They had a beautiful wedding in Vermont at an awesome resort called Jay Peak. The original plan was to get married on top of the mountain. To get to the top of the mountain you had to take the tram, I not sure of the capacity of the tram,  but there sure were a lot of people on it.
Unfortunately mother nature had other plans and it rained. They ended up getting married in a fabulous barn and it was perfect!
My mom and I flew from Washington DC to Burlington International Airport. We rented a car at the airport and drove an hour and a half to the resort. Vermont is a magnificent state. We had a lovey time at the resort and I would love to go back one day for a vacation.

Their dog, Reed was part of the ceremony wearing a scarf saying I do too.
Wow, in under 6 months I've gained a wonderful daughter in-law and a beautiful grandson. I can't imagine what the next 6 months will bring, life is good...........

Jacob William

It has been a long time since I posted anything on this blog. We finally moved out of the apartment that we rented and bought a single story town home in a very nice neighborhood. Living in the apartment was ok for two years but they kept raising the rent. Our mortgage is less than our rent and we have a much nicer, larger place.
I'm still working retail and TC took on a part time retail job. Working retail is ok, except for the holidays. basically the months of November and December you have no life whatsoever except work. I'm hoping that this year our job situation will change.

Last Wednesday my daughter gave birth to beautiful baby boy. He weighed 7.6 pounds and was 20 1/2 inches long. She had a difficult labor and ended up having an emergency cesarean.

Baby and mommy are fine. I took some time off work to stay with her and help her out. She is very sore and tired, but improving each and every day.
I don't mind telling you that after spending time with Jacob and my daughter I'm finding it very difficult staying away from them. This little baby has a way of stealing my heart.
I'm not sure how often I'll be posting on my blog, I'm using TC's computer as mine has died, I will be shopping for a new one soon.
