Say It Ain't Snow!

What's the dumbest thing you ever did?  Tonight I did a very dumb thing........

I went to work and everything was good, I had some great sales and some online orders. We were fairly busy for the first few hours.  We had some nice sales for the holiday. After a while the store was like a ghost town. I had one couple come in and I asked them, "how's the weather out there".  They told me the roads were terrible and  that it was sleeting and snowing like a banshee. They continued to shop and ended up buying some drapes, sheers and a curtain rod. TC called me and said "you should try to get off early because it looks real bad out there".  I relayed the message to my manager and she said I could leave early. I was so happy that I was able to leave early and hoped to get home safe. I called TC and told him I was on my way.

I could hardly see anything on my drive home........
I went out to my car and noticed there was ice all over it. I started my car and turned on the heat and the defrost. I had my ice scraper in the back seat. I opened the door to get out to get the ice scraper.  Somehow I ended up locked out of my of car with the motor running. My purse was in the car with my cell phone and everything. I was never the less a wee bit upset. What could I do? I went back into the store and my co-worker called a locksmith. They have his card because this apparently happens all of the time. The nice locksmith came out within a few minutes and saved me. I finally came home and TC said the roads must have been real bad, it took you forever. I told him what happened and he said "how could you do such a stupid thing like that"?

I'm such a bimbo..........
I told TC maybe this happened for a reason. Maybe, just maybe that the 20 minute delay kept me from getting into a bad accident or something. I always believe that everything happens for a reason.

Now you have it, that's my dumb thing for the day. I feel like a bimbo.

I don't think TC should have said that to you! That's my take on it, and I stand by it!!

I know he is probably a dear man, but it hurts for him to tell you locking yourself out was a "Stupid thing." We all goof up from tim to time.

My husband and teenage son did the same thing one time and I had to go rescuer them. I did't laugh even though I wanted to. My son was the driver and I think he was nervous driving with his father.

I also did it to myself once. Just automatically popped that lock button!
Husband rescued me! Fair exchange.

I think most of us have locked ourselves out at one time or another. I'm with you--things happen for a reason. In this case, you will for sure be very careful in the future, when maybe you would have locked out with no place to go inside to call a locksmith. All's well that ends well, if you don't mind the cliche.

Absolutely...the reason you may never know but the Universe did not want you on the road at that time. Be grateful and thankful that you have a little angel on your shoulder who knows when to step in and give you an issue to stop you.

At least you were able to get a locksmith to respond, I had to wait 2 1/2 hours for Donna to get off work and drive her 40 mile commute home and then bring her keys 18 more miles out to the Lake where I had locked mine in the truck and then we both drove home to a nice quiet dinner. The next day I went out and had a spare key cut to put in my wallet that just opens the door locks, not a fancy one with the chip that costs a fortune, just have to remeber never to use it as an ignition key or it will clear the computer and shut the truck down. I will say Donna never once said how stupid I was, I must have just looked stupid when she got out there and she felt sorry for me..
