Trying To Keep Up With Technology!

TC decided to buy us both new android phones.

I’ve had mine now for about two weeks and I’m having fun learning how to use it.
(are we living in the dark ages or what)?

We just received his and will activate it soon.  He wanted this phone because you can use the microphone to talk and send a text.  He always had a hard time texting because of the small keyboard. I’m going to have much fun watching him figure out many of the new things on his new phone.

He never could understand texting on any of his other phones, but wants to give it a try.

Gosh, I can remember the days when cell phones didn’t exist. When I was young,  (many many moons ago) we had one phone in the house (a rotary phone) with a very long cord.  We didn’t have an answering machine but always seemed to get along with out one.

I sometimes miss those days.  Life was so uncomplicated.  We all got along fine without so many things that we have now.  I remember when we actually had to get up off the couch to change the channel on the TV.

Sometimes when I’m working at my retail store in the mall a customer will come up to me while they have their cell phone (or using their bluetooth device)  up to their ear talking to someone. I don’t know what to do, they are talking to someone else.  Do I interrupt them or wait until they are finished with their conversation?

I find that people using their bluetooth device while shopping are funny looking.  They are just talking away and it looks like they are talking to themselves.

I have a bluetooth device to use with my phone, I only use it while I’m driving just incase TC needs to call me.

I don’t think we will ever be up to date with all of this new technology, but we sure are having fun trying.

Isn't life wonderful?

Thanks for reading, life is good...........

I find anyone talking while in a public place to be just the most annoying thing imaginable, with the possible exception of letting off some noxious fumes.
Only ONCE did I ever answer my cell phone when I was about to pay for my purchases at the register, and that was only because I was expecting a call from the phone company in Austria to install our line. I didn't think I wanted to miss that call, and there was no answering service with my "pay as you go" plan. I felt very sheepish doing so.
I would have a hard time not being ever so slightly rude to a person who starts out talking on their phone in a retail environment, and then expects to talk to me. "Oh, so NOW you're talking to ME?"
I don't think it would go well.
I'm sure I'd get fired.
