Horrific Storms!

Yesterday was a terrible day for storms. We had a ton of rain and lots of wind. The whole east coast had bad storms. We are lucky, we only have deal with water, some people  had to deal with tornado's. I saw on the news that 26 people died because of the tornado's.  Our creek turned into a river. The road in and out of the campground is covered.
Our creek turned into a river

Since our campers can't leave, we gave them a free night. Most of our campers are very understanding. We sold a lot of firewood, marshmallows and chocolate bars. It looks like our stranded campers know how to make the best out of a bad situation. Running out of beer and wine was the only complaint that I had.

The sun is out today and the wind is blowing. This strong wind should start to dry things up a bit.

Life is always full of surprises.

Thanks for reading, life is good........

Pleased that everyone at your end is okay. I have been following the news of the terrible weather in north America.

Running out of beer in a camper is a pretty serious matter especially around 05:00PM. luckily most campers will share if you run out. Hope that's it for all the rain for awhile, we even saw some sun today. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna...

You always write about it so calmly...we are currently on the road through Pennsylvania and we seen several campgrounds that look just like the photos you showed.

We hardly got any sleep, we lost power and it rained and the wind came off the mountain and it was scary...that was in Ruffs Dale in PA last night. We are currently in Hamburg, PA for the next few days and we hope we don't have to deal with all that rain and wind again! Forecasts don't look good!

I have such a respect for high water. I learned very young in life not to mess with it. We lived on a large creek and it would often come up and circle the neighbor's house. Be careful... :)

WOW, you did get a lot of rain. We are in NC where there were tornadoes, but we dodged the tornadoes. Stay safe out there!

That's a lotta water. Hope it dries up soon. Pretty nasty storms out there right now. The west is not too bad except for the rain in Oregon.

Thank goodness everyone is ok. IT may take a few days to dry out so the campers get take off but I'm sure they will make the best of it. Be Safe!

Wow, there sure has been a lot of weather to deal with all over the place. Showing the picnic table in the video sure showed how deep the water is. Hope it dries out soon for all of you.
