Snowmen Fall From Heaven... Unassembled!

Yesterday was the big snow day. The media made such a big deal about this storm. Schools closed early, before any snow was seen.

Jodie and I waited all day long for the "big snow". We never saw any big snow. It was sleeting and snowing just a little bit early in the morning. I had plans on visiting with my mom and decided not to go because of the snow they were calling for.

Jodie has a great imagination. We imagined we were playing in the "big snow".  Jodie did have much fun chasing a black cat up the big hill. She ran and ran. I thought I lost her. I ran home and got the car keys and started the car and tooted the horn, she was back in a flash! Jodie never wants to be left out.

After all of that cat chasing and playing make believe, Jodie needed a long nap. Yes she is snoring.

In anticipation of the snow day, I made a large pot of homemade chicken noodle soup and baked some homemade bread. I love homemade soup. Soup is a good thing to have on hand with my working schedule.  TC and I can always have a healthy meal, even if we eat on different schedules.

We did have some sleet and snow in the evening (about 2 inches).  The roads were like a frozen solid like an ice skating rink. Good thing we didn't have to drive any place. I would rather have snow than ice.

I'm with you--snow is pretty and fun, unless you have to shovel it. Ice is just plain dangerous.

We have had enough for my imagination for this year, although I've only had to take John Deere out once so far and plow,We just have to much to shovel the driveway is over 300 feet long and the paved area's and driveway added up to 5500 square feet when I had it done. So a plow is a necessity on anything over a few inches, plus when the winds the Prairie is famous for start blowing a few inches of snow will be blown into a 3 or 4 foot pile on the drive right away so you have to go out several times to keep ahead of it.The dogs sure do love it and like Jodie , Rigg's will be down for a good nap after romping in the snow. So is his Dad right next to him. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna...

With the soup an bread you got the best part of a good storm! Drive carefully tomorrow. There might still be patchy ice on the roads.

Jodie the Snowman looks great. Noting better than homemade soup and bread on a cold day.

Do you use a breadmaker for baking? I've been wanting to buy one but haven't done the research yet.
All that snowman building pooped Jodi out, huh! My Bella does that too and it cracks me up!

Stay warm!
