Polar Bears Take Plunge!

Hundreds of participants and spectators on Saturday (New Year's Day) lined the banks of the Potomac River in Williamsport, Md., to witness the annual Polar Bear Plunge that benefits the Humane Society of Washington County.

This was the 20th year for the Polar Bear Plunge, and the Humane Society of Washington County started using it as a fundraiser about a decade ago. The event has grown in popularity and participation each year, with almost 100 Polar Bears preregistering this year and hundreds more registering Saturday  morning.

The "Polar Bear Plunge is for a good cause, but you wouldn't find me in that cold freezing water. I did donate though.
