I had one customer today that wanted her young grandson to buy his mother a 14 carat gold ring. I showed her the 14 carat gold rings and she about pooped her pants when she found out how much they cost. I politely told her that we had some 10 carat gold over silver rings that would look nice but be a little bit cheaper. If looks could kill, I would be a dead woman. My gosh the little boy was only 8 years old, why would a 8 year old buy his mom a 14 carat ring. Everyone knows the price of gold is astronomical! When my kids were little they made me macaroni necklace's and painted them with glitter, I loved them.

man oh man..that little boy is being set up for 'big disappointment' in his life!..what the heck was the adult thinking???
Now I remember why I did not do well in sales-it was the customers I had to deal with. Sounds like you have a lot more patience that I did.
Yep, selling them Christmas trees isn't any easier. For the most part we have had wonderful customers but it only takes a few of the really nasty ones to really change the holiday spirit!
Keep that smile, only 10 more days!
A friend works at Disney and she said that her worst night was Christmas Eve - the people were mean and rude. But the next day, Christmas, it all changed and everyone was happy and in a good mood. I think people get so stressed out as the BIG DAY gets closer.
I still have a cigar-box-with-glued-macaroni-sprayed-with-silver-paint jewelry box that my now 46 year old son made for me. I get it!
