Making Plans For The Winter!

We usually try to find a workamping job in a warmer climate for the winter months. Finding a winter job that pays well is a tough one.  Florida is the warmest place in the USA during the winter months. Most of the jobs in Florida just want you to work for your site, they don't pay wages.  We could go out west, there are plenty of good workamping jobs out there, but I'm so happy being near my family.

We decided to stay right here at the Hagerstown KOA!  We love it here and would like to work at this great place next season. We have a great site and we are close to family. I will look for a winter job somewhere in the Hagerstown area, and TC will sell propane and do special projects here at the campground.

I'm sure we will get cold and dream about the nice warm climate in Florida, however we have heat, sweaters, coats, hats and everything we need for the brutal winter. Hopefully the winter will be kind to us this year. Last winter this area had 3 blizzards, two of them in one week. I think we can tough it out. We do have a home on wheels, if it gets too bitter cold, we can always leave.

Today most of the campers packed up and left. TC is working hard cleaning up each and every campsite. The next few weeks will be so quiet and peaceful. This fall weather is heaven, today is gorgeous.  Before we know it, October will be here and all of the ghosts and goblins will be out and about. It should be a fun Halloween!

Come the middle of January you may be thinking those warm thoughts of Florida. :) Being near family is always a good trade off for some inconveniences with the weather. I, personally, am not a big fan of Florida. Good luck getting a winter job! I'm sure you'll have no trouble with that.
