Yesterday we decided to take a drive up to the top of the mountain to see all of the snow. We left the campground at about noon and the temperature was 63, when we got to the top of the mountain it was 40 degrees. It is 18 miles to get to the top of the mountain but it is a long 18 miles, the speed limit is only 25mph. Trust me, you would not want to drive over 25mph on those mountains roads.
Jodie went with us and she just loves the snow, she rolled around in it and did much digging. You can see in the pictures above, there is quite a bit of snow, we have no snow here at the campground. You can also see a picture of some huge icicles hanging off of the mountain side. There are icicles like that all over the place. It was a beautiful drive on a gorgeous day!
When we came back to the campground the thermometer read 68 degrees! Jodie and I went for a walk on the trail that takes us down to the beach by the river. Once again, Jodie rolled around and did much digging, only this time it was in the sand. Just think we played in the snow and then played in the river all in one day WOW!
Happy Birthday Melissa!
