Why We Made Our Decision To Move Out Of Our Motorhome!

I’m asked this question all of the time.

We loved being “full-timers” living in our motorhome.  It was an exciting life style.  Traveling in it was fun, but being parked for an extended amount of time,  got old.

We enjoyed traveling all over the country “workamping”.  As time moved on we were discovering that paying  "workamping" jobs were getting harder and harder to find and traveling from one place to another place was getting very expensive.  Because of our pitiful economy, most “workamping” jobs were just having you work for your site and we simply couldn't afford to do that.

Our motorhome was getting old and the future didn’t look very bright.  We were going to have to trade it in for a new one or do something else.

We did something else……

Apartment life isn’t as exciting as camping life, but I'm very happy to be living close to my family.

The things I miss about my camping lifestyle are sitting out by the campfire and meeting all of the different people we always met.

The things I don’t miss about the camping life are taking care of the holding tanks and our limited living space.

At the moment, we are very happy to be living in an apartment, who knows what the future will bring........

So long Dutch Star, we will miss you, but will always treasure the memories.......

Thanks for reading, life is good.........

Ditto!! We found ourselves in the very same situation and decided to purchase a small house. Tomorrow we are heading to Ohio to pick up our "new to us" Casita. It is a small travel trailer that we can tow with our Xterra and NOW maybe we can afford to see this amazing country! It is small, not my beloved Dutch Star but it is all we need and it will get us out and about.
Good luck in your next chapter!!

Thanks for letting us know your reason for moving into an apartment rather than staying in your motorhome. Everyone has a reason and you have to do what is best for you. We are happy that you are enjoying your new home and I am sure things will work out just fine for you both.
