Our campground is booked this weekend because of our free night (see last post). You would think the campers would appreciate that. Not a chance! It seems to me the more you give the more they want.
We actually have customers that come to breakfast and order the all you can eat pancakes and want 4 plates. They want to feed their family for $2.95, unbelievable! I had a camper come in today at 10:00 in the morning. Our check-in is 1:00 in the afternoon (we like to have time to clean the sites). I told them they were early and would have to pay for an early check-in. They had a fit, and told me they have never been to a campground that had a certain check-in time. HELLO, where have they been? Do they camp on this planet. I had to make sure that the site they had was empty and let them go to their site without charging them. Remember they are camping tomorrow night for free. I worked and camped at campgrounds all over the USA and ALL of them have check-in and check-out times. I checked in another camper and told him the wifi code and showed him our cable channels. He got angry and said "wifi and cable, no wonder camping is so expensive". I asked him if his electric bill has gone up and if he pays more for gasoline. He told me of course. I informed him that every everyone is suffering because of the economy, not just him. Some people think that campground owners don't have bills to pay.
As the song goes: "God is great, beer is good and people are crazy"!

Well....I had made a nice comment on the "free" night camping (but alas blogger was down and it was lost) but after reading today maybe I should be glad it was lost. :-)
Yes, some folks are just unreal. Hang in there... the good ones are out there!! Yes, we have always had check-in and check-out times!

Sounds like you had quite a day. Yes, some people are crazy, without a doubt. I hope you meet some REALLY nice ones tomorrow to make up for it.

I just don't get people like these. It's always me, me, ME!!! Never consider anyone else's problems or bills. Good job handling them...:)
