The Helping Up Mission!

Today we went to a graduation banquet sponsored by the Helping Up Mission. TC's son, Butch is the director of programs and a former graduate at the mission. We cheered for all 110 men who completed the program and walked across the stage to receive their diplomas.

The mission elected to spotlight TC's sons personal journey through Hell and his recovery at the mission and his present life. It was shown through video of Butch in the projects as well as at the mission and at his home. Lisa, Butch's sister got up on stage with Butch and gave a lovey speech. When you go though what Butch and many other people go through, the whole family is going through it as well. Whew, what a journey.

This mission has a Spiritual Recovery Program. The program has helped so many men with drug and alcohol addiction and changed their lives!

We had a nice time and a great visit with family. The keynote speaker was John Harbaugh the coach for the Baltimore Ravens!! Wow, what a great day.

I had never heard of this mission. It sounds very inspirational. TC must be very proud of his son. You are sure right when you say something like this affects the entire family. Glad you could both be there and show your support to these very brave men.
