Mom's Hindu Rope Plant!

I went to visit my mom today. We went to the hospital to spend some time with my grandmother. She has been there for about a week. After spending some time with "Mammaw" we went shopping for some window treatments for mom's windows in her new room.

Mom has this beautiful plant called the Hindu Rope Plant. Her father gave her this plant over 35 years ago. She still has the original plant, although she has rooted many plants from it over the years. The Hindu Rope plant produces beautiful pink flowers that smell like coffee and chocolate. Mom's plant has been sitting on a table since the remodeling began. We think the plant will be happy to be hanging in a sunny window again.

It was much hotter today, in the high 90's and the humidity is back. I had a nice visit and had fun helping mom hang her plant and valances.

That is an interesting looking plant!! I can't believe how old it is either. WOW! She could even use it as a scarf in the winter :)

What an unusual plant, and lovingly taken care of for all these years. :)
