We had a wonderful day at Dollywood. The sun was out and it was in the low 80's. With the warm weather and the holiday weekend, Dollywood was a bit busy. There is so much to see and do, it was almost overwhelming. TC and I walked most of the park and had a chance to see most things. It's a lot of walking. We didn't get on any rides, TC is not much of a ride person. They had all kinds of rides, the roller coasters looked real scary to me. We had great fun listening to everyone scream.
There are so many restaurants there, it was hard to choose one. We did have a great lunch at an old time 50's style drive-in hamburger joint. It looked like the one in the TV show "Happy Days".
In addition to standard amusement park thrill rides, Dollywood features traditional crafts and music. Dollywood has 3,000 people on its payroll, making it the largest employer in Pigeon Forge, TN. Dollywood is also the site of the Southern Gospel Museum and Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Southern Gospel Music Association, an independent non-profit corporation. WOW, what a great place, I can't wait to go back!
